It started with a pitch deck. There was a mood board and inspiration images laying out a vision for a mix of content, what I called demo videos, short for demonstration videos, alongside pieces built for social media. I brought two friends in to help make it happen, because a project like this does not come together solo.

What Svetlana Actually Needed

Once I sat down with Svetlana, the plan shifted. She walked me through the images and videos that actually mattered most to her right now. My instinct was to lead with marketing content, but the real job was blending that with what she needed for the business day to day. We shot demo videos first, weaving the social content in around them.

Shooting in the Dark, Literally

I usually shoot in a well lit room, but this studio was dim and moody. It was the kind of lighting that looks great on camera but gives you almost no room for error. I filmed horizontally in 4K so I could punch in later and cut vertical clips at 1080 without losing quality. I had to move quickly the whole time. There were no do-overs and no resets. I just had to find the shot and take it.

Test Fast, See What Works

That was the goal of round one: not perfection, but information. We shot fast to see what looks good and to learn from the results. Svetlana needed urgency. She needed content and marketing collateral now, not in three weeks, so we worked at that pace. I walked away with some photos I am genuinely proud of, even though I know the owner will have notes. That is the job. Round one is a starting point, not a finish line.

What is Next

I will be following up with her soon to see what landed and what needs another pass. I will share more on that when it happens.
